Wholesale Produce Food Safety Training This Week in Kent County

Produce Food Safety Certification Training – Kent Co. Session
Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) /Good Handling Practices (GHP)

Date: January 29, 2010 Time: 9 am – 3:30 pm,
Place: UD Kent Co. Extension Office, Dover (Paradee Building),
Registration: Call (302) 730-4000 to register.

Wholesale produce growers who did not attend voluntary produce food safety (GAP/GHP) training sessions in 2009 are encouraged to do so in 2010. This training program is offered by the UD Cooperative Extension, and the certificate is issued by the DDA. Trainings are also sponsored by the Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association of DE. This certification program satisfies wholesale buyer requirements that growers attend GAP/GHP training.
There will be other sessions in each county (Kent 2/22 small only; Sussex 3/2 small, 3/11, 3/18 wholesale; New Castle 3/9, 3/16). Call your county office for more information Kent 730-4000, Sussex 856-7303, NCC 831-2506.
